One of the most important aspects of properly and respectfully honoring our Military Fallen is the involvement of the local community. Over the course of our 6,000 mile, 4 month tribute we will be passing through and stopping in hundreds of cities and towns. It is significant to the Gold Star families and friends as well as to the committed run team to know that there is meaningful local support.
We need your help in organizing the community to come out to the markers and in whatever events that could be planned that end in a tribute ceremony each day. The limitations are up to you and it can be as small or as large as desired.
Check out the Route links above for the dates and towns where we will be going. One of the most important ways to honor our fallen is to be at the Hero Marker when the run team arrives. There will be a Hero Marker placed at every mile along the 6,000 mile route from California to Arlington National Cemetery. These runners need to be appreciated and encouraged as they are investing days, weeks and months in honor of our Fallen and their families. By visibly showing support it energizes the runners and inspires them to continue knowing that there are others who appreciate the effort, not for themselves but for those who they run for.
Veterans and Patriots we need you! Come out on your own or with your local organization. Community clubs such as Patriot Guard, VSOs, Elks, Ruritans, Rotary, Lions, Eagles etc, we need everyone to be a part of making this tribute journey amazing.
Schools, churches, businesses, corporations, patriotic Americans all, come out in your community and support this effort.
